Biography

I joined the University of Arizona in 2008 as Professor of Cognitive Science in the College of Science.

Previously, I spent five years as a full-time researcher at the Information Sciences Institute at USC. I directed the K12@USC research project which focused on technology-based instruction for middle and high school math and science in Los Angeles schools.

Before that, I was Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst (1992-2005) and at Dartmouth College (1984-1992). My doctorate is from Stanford University (Developmental Psychology, 1984) and my undergraduate degree is from the University of California at San Diego (Psychology, Visual Arts, 1979).
